Card #1 bites the dust ($38849.55)

Paid off Nikki's mother's card today, about 15 minutes ago. I had to rearrange some things to get it completely paid off, otherwise I was going to be about $60 short of the remaining balance. I learned when I went through this before that it's better to go ahead and pay it off than to let it linger for another pay period if you can.

I might be selling my old beat up jeep tomorrow, so that'll be more towards card #2.

Still busy ($39924.45 est)

Been so busy with work and this being married thing that I haven't been able to post.

Today I made a $1450 payment on one of the cards. That money came from 2 travel bonuses from my company, less gas money for my next trip. We're still kinda wandering around with this; we're living on a budget based on my current salary and using my bonuses to pay off the debt. Travel is about to stop (maybe 4 more weeks of travel bonus money), but the wife is jobhunting and working 15 hours a week at $17/hr in the meantime. Honestly the depressing thing is that her job doesn't even cover the federal taxes taken from my paycheck, not to mention FICA and Social Security which I'll never see.

But the card I paid on today will be paid off in 2 weeks. That should feel pretty good since it's been over a year since I paid anything completely off.
